Actually, we are not a “new church”. Our history & heritage dates back 168 years, (before the
Civil War). But in a spiritual sense we are a “new-day” church with our Pastor Shawn and the
rededication of our congregation to witness to our faith in Jesus the Christ. Last Sunday was an
important day for mount Zion. First, we “broke bread” in the Sacrament of Holy Commitment.
Second, we asked God’s blessing upon our Pastor Shawn. Third, as a congregation we made a
commitment to support the ministries of our congregation through our prayers, our presence, our
gifts, our service and our Christian witness!
This morning we invite all of our people to join us in the social hall as we have a fellowship
meal reaffirming our unity and our oneness in our Lord. Thank you to everyone who made this
special time together possible
Today is our “Second Sunday” fellowship. It is also a celebration luncheon to celebrate Pastor
Shawn’s appointment by the Baltimore/Conference of the United Methodist Church to be our
pastor and to honor him and this wife Morrisa and son Noah. Please join us! Good fellowship
and good food, always!
The Mt. Zion Summer Singers sang "I Came to Praise the Lord".
