Mount Zion Cares! Our special offering toward the disaster relief in Houston, the Gulf
Coast, Florida and related areas has reached $1,937.00. Our congregational goal was $1,500.
Our financial gift goes through UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief). Please use
the special offering envelope found in the church vestibule and be generous.
Today is the Day! Our Church-Wide Picnic will be immediately following morning
worship YOU are invited to join us (even if you did not sign up). Right down the street at the
Roaring Run Lions Club field. The church will provide hamburgers, hot dogs, rolls &
condiments. Thank you if you are bringing additional items. Please join us.

The Upper Room daily devotional guide for September/October is available "free" this
morning. Please take a copy. It is provided by George & Pat Beck in Memory of Loved Ones
and also by Joyce Iglehart in Memory of Loved Ones. This is a wonderful resource for
providing meaning daily readings and devotions.
Did You Know that our church choir members and additional singers are rehearsing every Thursday
evening at 7:00 p.m. to prepare for our annual Advent/Christmas musical in December. We thank those of
you who have made this commitment. See our church musician Leslie Gabler for more information.
Your Financial Support of our Maintenance/Building Fund is Appreciated - Over the past few
months we have accomplished many important and much needed maintenance-repair projects in and
around the church building. Brick work on the front and back of the building along with new hand-railing
are just two of the projects. We are having the Old Westminster Pike church sign restored and we will
begin new planting in the front of the church building. Every dollar you give is accompanied by volunteer
labor to make our money go farther. The Church Trustees thank you for your "extra mile" financial

Important! After Worship Fellowship. Please remember that if you are a "coordinator" at "after
worship refreshments" you do not have to bring food. Simply do two things. (1) Put out the food we have
on hand and (2) Clean up after the fellowship time. The Following People have agreed to be coordinators

The Finksburg Community Farmers Market. Our last Saturday was yesterday! Thank you to
everyone who made our first years such a success. A special thanks to Mark & Diana Fraser and the
produce and food and craft and candy people! If you supported our local Farmers Market please share
your ideas with Mark or Diana.
Our First Fall Church-Wide Fellowship Supper. The first Friday in October, the 6th of the month.
6:30 p.m. If you can bring something to share with another family please do it, but if you can't bring
something, COME ANYWAY! We always have enough food. Always good fellowship! Invite someone to
