Christmas Caroling. Sunday afternoon, December 3rd. Arrive at the home of Barb & Bob Hayes (1142 Deer Park Road) no later than 1:30 p.m. We leave by a big yellow school bus promptly at 2:00 p.m. We return followincaroling for light refreshments. If you are planning to attend please sign up on the sheet in the Social Hall so we can make sure we have enough food!

The 2016 Edition Has Arrived! All cards are hand made from old cards you turned in! ARC CHRISTMAS GREETING CARDS ARE HERE! Only $5.00 for a packet of cards with envelopes. Support this important project of our local ARC program. The Arc Carroll County promotes and protects the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We now have a new selection of Christmas & Holiday Greeting Cards from our local ARC program. Many of these cards that were hand-made by those in the ARC program probably came from old cards that you had donated. donated. Stop by the table in the Social Hall by the entrance doors and see the collection. A packet of cards cost only $5.00. Support this important local ministry for people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.+
Speaking of Christmas Greetings! Again this year you will have the opportunity to share Christmas greetings through cards to members & friends of Mount Zion. Beginning next Sunday we will have a "Christmas Card Box" in the Social Hall where you can drop "in house" Christmas greetings or cards. This will save you postage. We will deliver the cards for you. Please consider giving a special card not only to those that you know but also to new friends!

Next Sunday we will also give you the names and addresses of those who are home-bound or shut-in. We ask that you send a special card to those folks. If you would like more information before you send
your card please see the Pastor. Thank you for thinking of others!

To Day - This is an important day for our congregation! We are asking every member and friend of Mount Zion to make a new yearly commitment in five important areas of Christian living. To support the church of Jesus with (1) our prayers (2) our worship presence (3) our financial gifts (4) our service and (5) our Christian faith witness.

The Annual Finksburg Community Thanksgiving Service. To be held at Mount Zion. This Wednesday Evening, November 23rd 7:30 p.m. Come early or stay late for fresh sweet cider and donuts.

Our Annual United Methodist Board of Child Care Offering started last Sunday morning. Our goal is to raise $1,400 and to date we have received $385. For some children it will be their only gift. We hope that you once again will be very generous in your financial giving. Every dollar counts! Please use the special "cottage" envelopes for your gift.

Our Appreciation to Bruce Carson (Trustee) who attended an important meeting this past Wednesday sponsored by the Carroll County Sheriff's Department on "Safety in Churches." He will make a report to the Church Council this coming Tuesday evening.

Have You Signed Up to bring some food item for our annual Thanksgiving-Advent-Christmas "holiday" church-wide meal on Friday evening, December 1st? The (orange) sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board in the Social Hall. See Joan Tighe for more information. Dinner starts on time at 6:30 p.m. with a special worship emphasis.

Important! After Worship Fellowship. Please remember that if you are a "coordinator" at "after worship refreshments" you do not have to bring food. Simply do two things. We give thanks to God for the faithfulness of our people, friends & members, those retired, living on fixed incomes, and those out of town.

Financial Information. (1) We need to receive $2,031.00 each week in 2017 to meet our budget. (2) Our offering on November 12th was $1,615.00 (3) According to our financial records as of Sunday, November 12th (week 46) we are behind in our Operating Budget by $132.66 (4) Last Sunday we received $180.00 for our Community Service Fund and $275.00 toward the Bill Muse memorial fund (5) We received $79.67 for Pancake Bruch sales and $50.00 toward advertising (6) Our goal for the BW Conference "connection" in 2017 is $9,459.00 and to date (we are up to date) we have given $9,000. (7) Last Sunday our "new" Maintenance/Building Fund received $279.00. (7) Attendance on November 12th was 70.

Thank You for continuing to support the program for "abused women" with filling a bag of needed items or providing needed items. We took several "purple bags" to Terry's Title & Tag (in Westminster) this past week which is a receiving place for items donated. There are additional "purple" bags on the table in the Social Hall. See Barbara Hayes for more information.

Another "Thank You!" We continue to "thank you" for your financial support of our congregation's Community Service Fund. This fund, established about nine years ago has provided emergency and meaningful help to our members and friends along with help for those in the community. We know that money is tight but we appreciate you going the "extra mile" in your giving.
